VILLA LOFOTEN EXHIBITION
In the restored barn we present works from 23 artists and artisans. Half of them have participated in artist residencies at Villa Lofoten. An equal number have homes or holiday homes in the Kvalnes neighborhood. 65 individuals from both Norway and abroad have since 2015 taken part in residencies at Villa Lofoten.
The artists and craftspeople, from widely diverse backgrounds, invite you through their work to explore the ways of nature and reflect on the relationship between humans and their surroundings. What they share is a connection to this place – Kvalnes.

BACKGROUND
Villa Lofoten seeks, through its arts and culture work, to contribute to a democratic and inclusive society.
The selection of artists and artisans for the exhibition is based on artists who have had guests stays at Villa Lofoten or live/vacation in the neighborhood. All invitees presented three works to the curatorial team: visual artist Bodil Røvik Larsen, cinematographer/photographer Tor Edvin Eliassen, and art historian Aaslaug Vaa, who installed the exhibition in collaboration with glass artist/artisan Vegard Johannessen. The exhibition space is produced with support from Nordland County and Vestvågøy Municipality.
