The taste of a place

At restaurant Soleng we are serving traditional food with a personal take.  Our menu is based on local produce of the highest quality. 

Wednesday – Sunday from June 20th – August 25th, 2024 


Seán Derwin has a degree in Culinary Arts from Cathal Brugha Street in Dublin, Ireland. He has worked as head chef both at Hattvika Lodge and Huset in Svalbard. 



Aaslaug Vaa is the founder of Villa Lofoten and her knowledge and passion for Norwegian food culture is the basis of our restaurant. 

Together with Seán, they have created a menu based on tastes from the woods, fields and of course the sea.


Historical transformations 
On Wednesday, Friday and Sundays we invite you to partake in a historical journey. Learn about the fishing traditions and way of living in Lofoten. Before dinner, we start the evening in the harbour and walk together to the farm where we meet the pigs, goats and sheep. 



Soleng Farm

We invite guests and visitors to an authentic dining experience in our newly restored barn at Soleng farm. The farm is located in a meadow, between the mountains and the sea, where you can feel the warmth of the midnight sun as you look out over the Arctic Ocean.

Stay the night at the Farmhouse

We offer our dinner guests to stay the night in our beautiful Farmhouse. The house has four bedrooms with double beds, a kitchen and a shared bathroom. The price is 1200 NOK per person, including breakfast. Click the check-box when booking your dinner and we will handle your overnight reservation.
